  • Oct 3, 2016 You Are My Source
As a flower can reliably depends on the Sun. I on You.
  • Aug 30, 2013 The Maroon Bells
Trip to Montana? Nawh! I'll do you one better! The Colorado Maroon Bells! Sit down. Take a deep breath. I'll tell a story...  Once upon a time, in a land far far away. There were four men looking to roam the mountains on the 4th of July weekend. Months in advance, the date was saved for this adventure. The destination, Glacier National Park. It was a place where grizzlies, wolves, moose (meese <- plural of moose) and all kind of big game animals roamed freely.
  • Apr 15, 2013 Don't Plan… Cause You Won't Be Disappointed!
Have you ever spent $30 bucks on McDonald’s for four people. Maybe you have… maybe you haven’t. But the thing is… we just wanted to drop by a pick up a ‘small’ snack before we feast in Moab celebrating our conquering of Zion.<o:p></o:p><div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hsdxJBu19Mk/UWuUUqH22UI/AAAAAAAAE6Y/AKccur-rLWY/s1600/IMG_7301-0003.jpg imageanchor=1 style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;> It took us a little longer than anticipated to get back to Moab from Zion, actually two hours more than the three hours anticipated due to miscalculation.
  • Apr 15, 2013 Zion - Conquered
Arrived at the trailhead, we eagerly jumped out of the shuttle to start our adventure. Meanwhile we were doing our last gear check, a couple next to us (the only other people that rode with us to the trailhead on the shuttle) started talking and got into a small conversation. The only memorable thing about our little chat was when the gal said “… we don’t plan for our trips, that way, we would never be disappointed.
  • Feb 26, 2013 Adventure - Defined
The Great Sand Dunes National Park According to Webster's dictionary... an adventure is "an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks" With that definition out of the way. Let’s talk about our adventure to the Great Sand Dunes eh? A week before the trip, rumors were spreading around our youth group that there was an overnight trip to the sand dunes… started by two of us. Only a three hours drive away from the heart of Colorado, it was a reasonable place to go spend the night in the wilderness and see the next wonder of the world.
  • Feb 14, 2013 We Came. We Saw. We Conquered.
Lets pick up where we left off eh? Moab. The one place where boys go to become men.. and girls to become boys. After weeks of planning to spend a few days after Christmas in The Maze District in Canyonlands National Park, we realized that we needed a back up plan. In this desolate place, the weather could be our friends, or it could be our enemy. For a good week before heading out, our eyes were glued on the weather forecast.
  • Jan 18, 2013 It's About the Journey, Not the Destination
Once again… we found the adrenaline rush just sitting around and planning for a backpacking trip. This time, Moab, round two. <div class=separator style=clear: both; text-align: center;><a href=http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pMB_Rpksf2A/UPkFQB3EOVI/AAAAAAAAEjs/2AqwAAAZl34/s1600/IMG_3309-Edit.JPG imageanchor=1 style=margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;> Our goal was to enter into and exit out of ‘The Maze District’ in Canyonlands National Park in four days. You know the reason why they call it ‘The Maze’? It is the exact reason why we spent countless hours staring at all the different types of maps to make sure that we DO know this maze.
  • Sep 8, 2012 Father, Lead Me, I Can't Do this Alone
3rd day in Moab, Utah. For the days that we were in Moab, we relied on these rocks that are stacked together by the people who have came before us to lead the way. These rocks are called, cairn. This is of a cave at the end of joint trail, completely filled with cairn.
  • Sep 8, 2012 Here's to the 14ers
This was taken a few weeks back when we went to hit up my first 14ers. It was shot at 5 in the morning on the way up to Mt. Beirdstadt (which is the peak on the right hand side). Here you can see the Sawtooth (in the middle) and Mt. Evans (on the left).
  • Sep 8, 2012 Keep Your Head Up
Some times we all look forward/down too much, keep your head up and you'll be surprised. This is of a small little waterfall that feeds into Hanging Lake!
